Configure DNS Server Address

If you change your network configuration, such as switching service providers, routers or moving the printer to a different subnet, you might need to edit the IPv4 address as much as your DNS settings otherwise features like scanning to email and automated meter and toner reads will fail to upload..

Steps to Configure DNS Server Address.

  • You will need to be signed in as Admin for this process.

  • Password is by default 1111 but can also be the Serial Number of the Xerox Device.

1. At the home screen press the "Log In" button.

2. Press on "admin".

3. Sign in with password "1111" or "serial number" of xerox device.

4. Now you are signed in as Admin as indicated in the top left corner.

5. Press the "Device" button.

6. Scroll down until and press "Connectivity".

7. Press on "Ethernet".

Notice - Please make sure when at this screen that your Xerox device is connected according to the setting highlited in red above. Network cable connected = Ethernet ; WiFi connected = Wireless.

8. Press "DNS Server".

9. Press "Domain Name".

10. Enter your preferred domain name, but for this guide we use xerox.local and if you do no have a domain name use xerox.local as a default and press enter.

11. Press "IPv4 Servers".

12. Press on "Primary Server".

13. Enter your network DNS settings supplied by your IT or request assistance from a Xerox remote support specialist, for this guide we use a default 8.8.8.8 for now and press enter then press ok.

14. You will be returned to the previous screen, press ok.

15. You will be returned to the previous screen, press ok again.

16. now you will see the connectivity screen, please press the home button next to your screen.

17. Your Xerox device will ask to restart press "Restart Now" to complete process.
